As I mentioned, I have always enjoyed spending my time indoors and finding things I can do to keep myself entertained. I liked completing puzzles and putting together building blocks. I love origami and ocassionally, I enjoy colouring and drawing (though I do not have much skills on this - a drawing of my aeroplane is always mistaken for a flying fish 😅 ..... so you get the idea).
I however came to a realisation that I am not much of a builder or innovator too. I am very much someone who can follow instructions well and improvise on things that I do. For a while this actually frustrated me. I would sit in front of my blocks and imagined a design and creating something 'original'. I have to be honest, 85% of the time it ended up looking like a really big cube 🤭. I can laugh at it now, but it was absolutely not funny before.
I tried so hard to become something that was not me, that the focus was always on what I couldn't do and not appreciating what I can do well, my strengths and abilities. Coming to terms with this helped me to acknowledge that everyone is different, unique and you do not have to be the same. It is alright to have differences, so long as we respect one another. Our imperfections help to create a perfect picture in a puzzle when we work together ❤️. To me, being creative is when you are able to give your best in whatever you do, with the ability to apply them into different environments and situations.
Do you know what your strengths are? What are you capable of doing?
